Service
The OpenLDAP Project is a collaborative effort to develop a robust, commercial-grade,
fully featured and open source LDAP suite of applications and development
tools. Guardian Digital uses pieces of the OpenLDAP project to provide its
customers with the ability to access directory services from any client.

- Linux Kernel Version

The Linux Kernel handles the basic functions of all Linux operating systems
including memory allocation, process allocation, device input and output,
etc. Guardian Digital utilizes the latest stabilized Linux kernel in all
solutions.

- TripWire Intrusion
Detection
Tripwire is an industry-standard open source intrusion detection tool. Guardian
Digital implements the merits of the TripWire project to ensure consistent
security from intruders and provide system integrity assurance, policy compliance
and more.

- OpenSSH Encryption
Utilities
The OpenSSH project provides secure shell implementation to secure network
connectivity. Relying on OpenSSH, among other security applications, to
encrypt all Internet and network traffic (including passwords), authenticate
users and provide secure tunneling capabilities, Guardian Digital security
solutions effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and
other common Internet threats.
- MySQL Database Engine
The MySQL project provides the open source community with a very fast, reliable
database engine. As a main component to the EnGarde operating platform,
Guardian Digital utilizes MySQL for its powerful performance, uncanny reliability,
flexible and resilient architecture and cross platform support.
- Snort
Intrusion Detection System
Snort is an open source network intrusion detection system, capable of performing
real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on IP networks. An integral
security component to many of Guardian Digital's award-winning security
solutions, Snort utilizes protocol analysis functions, content searching/matching
applications to proactively detect both common and uncommon Internet attacks
such as buffer overflows, stealth port scans, CGI attacks, OS fingerprinting
attempts, and much more.
- PHP Scripting Language
PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language. Guardian Digital
solutions implement the merits of PHP for Web development and to generate
dynamic web content.

- Perl Programming
Language
Perl is an open source cross platform programming language. Guardian Digital
utilizes perl in many of its applications due to its wide acceptance, ability
to effectively handle mission-critical projects, its text manipulation capabilities
and rapid development cycle.

full-featured, and Open Source toolkit. Utilizing OpenSSL, Guardian Digital
is able to implement the protection of Secure Sockets Layer and Transport
Layer Security protocols into their secure solutions.

- VSFTPD
FTP Server
The VSFTPD Project is a secure, extremely fast FTP server designed for UNIX
and Linux systems. Guardian Digital chose to implement the VSFTPD structure
to form a business critical application providing secure and efficient FTP
capabilities.
- Postfix Mail Transport
Agent
A widely used and highly compatible sendmail program, the Postfix project
provides Guardian Digital developers with the resources they need to ensure
essential corporate email communications are always securely sent to the
intended recipient.

- Apache Web Server
Apache is a powerful, full features efficient web server and is the most
widely used web server on the Internet. Guardian Digital and the Apache
project teamed up to provide comprehensive web services for our customers.

- MRTG Traffic Monitor
The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is an open source tool implemented
throughout Guardian Digital's secure solutions to monitor the traffic load
on network links allowing users to graphically observe the inner workings
of their network.

- IPtables Firewall
& Filtering Tools
IPtables is an open source application which provides powerful firewalling
and filtering capabilities. To enhance the security of any network, Guardian
Digital uses IPtables to consistently keep corporate networks secure and
free from malicious content.

Linux
GNU is a popular open source project established to develop a complete Linux
style operating system. Guardian Digital uses variants of the GNU operating
system to compliment the already widely established EnGarde Secure Linux
operating system
