Service
The OpenLDAP Project is a collaborative effort to develop a robust, commercial-grade,
fully featured and open source LDAP suite of applications and development
tools. Guardian Digital uses pieces of the OpenLDAP project to provide its
customers with the ability to access directory services from any client.

- Linux Kernel Version
2.4
The Linux Kernel handles the basic functions of all Linux operating systems
including memory allocation, process allocation, device input and output,
etc. Guardian Digital utilizes the latest stabilized Linux kernel in all
solutions.
- TripWireIntrusion
Detection
Tripwire is an industry-standard open source intrusion detection tool. Guardian
Digital implements the merits of the TripWire project to ensure consistent
security from intruders and provide system integrity assurance, policy compliance
and more.
- OpenSSH Encryption
Utilities
The OpenSSH project provides secure shell implementation to secure network
connectivity. Relying on OpenSSH, among other security applications, to
encrypt all Internet and network traffic (including passwords), authenticate
users and provide secure tunneling capabilities, Guardian Digital security
solutions effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and
other common Internet threats.

- Snort Intrusion
Detection System
Snort is an open source network intrusion detection system, capable of performing
real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on IP networks. An integral
security component to many of Guardian Digital's award-winning security
solutions, Snort utilizes protocol analysis functions, content searching/matching
applications to proactively detect both common and uncommon Internet attacks
such as buffer overflows, stealth port scans, CGI attacks, OS fingerprinting
attempts, and much more.
- Postfix Mail Transport
Agent
A widely used and highly compatible sendmail program, the Postfix project
provides Guardian Digital developers with the resources they need to ensure
essential corporate email communications are always securely sent to the
intended recipient.
- Apache Web Server
Apache is a powerful, full features efficient web server and is the most
widely used web server on the Internet. Guardian Digital and the Apache
project teamed up to provide comprehensive web services for our customers.
- Samba File &
Print Server
Samba is an open source suite of applications that provides file and print
services to SMB/CIFS clients. Guardian Digital Internet Acceleration and
Management Server utilizes many of the components of Samba to offer inter-office
connectivity with seamless file and print sharing capabilities.

- Squid Caching
Server
Squid is a robust open source proxy caching server employed by Guardian
Digital Internet Acceleration and Management Server to provide enhance the
speed and security of accessing Internet resources.

- Amavisd
Virus Scanner
An open source virus scanner, Guardian Digital implemented Amavisd to work
seamlessly with Sophos anti-virus system providing users with bulletproof
security from virus threats.

- SpamAssassin Anti-spam
Application
SpamAssassin is a highly respected open source project which uses it uses
a wide range of heuristic tests on mail headers and body text to identify
unsolicited commercial email. Utilizing a number of spam identification
tactics, SpamAssassin along with other innovative spam combating components
of Secure Mail Suite determines, with pinpoint precision, whether incoming
messages are legitimate or unsolicited mail.
