Government of India Taps Guardian Digital to Implement State-of-the-Art Security Solution for Space Program
Premier Open Source Security Company Commissioned to Protect Indian Space Research Organization's Far-Reaching Networks

ALLENDALE, New Jersey, October 6, 2004 -- Guardian Digital, Inc., the world's premier open source security provider, today announced a partnership with the Government of India to implement its suite of security and productivity applications at the Government's Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) headquarters. With deployment well underway, ISRO's enhanced solution portfolio includes EnGarde Secure Linux, Internet Acceleration and Management Server, Secure Mail Suite, EnGarde WorkGroup Suite and Internet Defense & Detection System.

Encompassing a vast network of thirty independent research centers and thousands of end-users across the country, ISRO recognized the inherent advantages of the company's open source platform, specifically in the areas of security, customization and flexibility. "The security and integrity of our network is absolutely essential to our daily operations - there is no room for compromise," stated Dr. N. Ramani, a visiting scientist associated with ISRO's Information Security planning. "After an exhaustive evaluation of several security solutions, we found Guardian Digital's platform, with its exceptional functionality and excellent security, best met our specific needs."

Utilizing EnGarde Secure Linux as the foundation, ISRO's enhanced security network provides state-of-the-art virus and spam protection, customized security features and the ability to integrate legacy systems into a more manageable environment. Further, with Guardian Digital's innovative WebTool, ISRO network administrators can easily manage all security updates, server configurations, corporate user policies and network reporting capabilities through a simplified web-based interface, relieving strained IT resources while simultaneously increasing overall department productivity.

"For high level government organizations such as ISRO, maintaining Internet and network security becomes increasingly challenging as the number of threats grow exponentially every day," said Dave Wreski, Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Digital. "Guardian Digital solutions provide the solid security foundation to address such concerns by eliminating daunting maintenance and upgrade requirements that unnecessarily burden IT resources and often relegate enterprises to running outdated, and therefore vulnerable, systems. Our ability to seamlessly and effectively integrate these systems into a fully-customized and well-supported network ensures ISRO headquarters the protection they need to safely and successfully conduct business."

Added Dr. Ramani, "The scalability and security that we now have with our Guardian Digital solution will ensure future network integrations of other ISRO centers are simple and manageable; I have no doubt that many will follow our success and embrace the EnGarde platform."
